The project of FEST25 is financed from the state budget by the means of financing science and development activities.
Short Overview:
Formula Student Team Tallinn is building the FEST25 electric formula car, which is lighter and more efficient than ever before. For the first time in the team’s history, the car will be powered by self-developed inverters, aiming for better efficiency and reduced weight compared to the previously used commercial products. The completed car will compete in international Formula Student series product development competitions.
Purpose and results:
The goal of the project is to develop and build the FEST25 electric formula car. In September, at least 35 new students are expected to join the Formula Student project. Through self-directed learning and support from more experienced team members, they will gain comprehensive knowledge of engineering and product development. One of the project’s main objectives is to achieve greater efficiency, allowing for a reduction in the car’s overall weight. A self-developed inverter, validated on the dynamometer, will be implemented in the car for the first time, and new copper elements will be introduced in the battery pack. The finished formula car is expected to achieve several podium positions in international product development competitions. The members of the Formula Student team are committed to finding the most optimal solutions for specific situations, making them highly valued specialists in the job market in the future.
Contribution amount: 100 000€
The FEST26 project is financed from the state budget from funds for research and development.
Short overview:
Formula Student Team Tallinn is building an electric formula car, FEST26, which is capable of driving both with and without a driver. Thanks to the new battery pack cooling technology and the compactness of the self-developed inverter, it is possible to achieve a more efficient and lighter formula than before. The completed formula car will participate in international Formula Student series product development competitions.

Purpose and results:
The goal of the project is to develop and build a ready-made electric formula FEST26. In September, at least 45 new students are expected to join the student formula project, who will gain in-depth knowledge of engineering and product development through independent learning and support from senior members. One of the biggest goals of the project is to develop students and contribute to the development of top-level engineers in Estonia. Also, to popularize engineering education among young people, encouraging them to acquire technical higher education.
Thanks to the new battery pack cooling technology and making the self-developed inverter more compact, it is possible to significantly change the design of FEST26, which will bring a victory in mass and efficiency. The finished formula will achieve several podium places in international product development competitions. The members of the student formula team are ready to find the most optimal solutions according to the specific situation, which will make them valued specialists in the labor market in the future.
Contribution amount 100 000€
