Equipped with the experience and knowledge gained during the construction of FEST08, the team entered the new season in the autumn of 2008 with a largely unchanged core group consisting of already experienced university students. Their goal was to create a new, perfected Formula car.<\/span><\/p>

In the autumn, the design process of the new car began and by January, the frame and chassis were already being manufactured. As spring approached, the construction of the Formula car gained momentum, and by May, production was already in full swing at the workshop located in the back corner of the TTK campus.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Despite the fact that in the last days of May, the car was still only a bare frame with an attached engine, assembly was even faster this time, and the car took shape in just a few days. To meet the deadlines we set for us, the team worked day and night, and for the first time, the FEST09 rolled on its wheels on June 13 at half past one in the morning, and it was ready to drive on June 15 at 3:08 AM. The first sounds of the engine cut through the silence of the summer night and caused annoyance among nearby residents, but the event was worth it – another Formula car had been born.<\/span><\/p>

After a testing period lasting nearly a month and a half, during which the car’s durability was tested, the construction was refined, the settings were adjusted and the pilots were trained, the team set off for Hockenheim, Germany in early August, where the prestigious Formula Student Germany competition took place. Unfortunately, luck was not on our side in Germany and a technical glitch prevented Team Tallinn from finishing the endurance. This resulted in a major loss of points, and the team finished 46th out of 78 participants.<\/span><\/p>

However, the team had success a week and a half later at the Baltic Open held in Finland. The car’s potential was realized and we were able to beat teams from Finland, Sweden, and Denmark. In addition to winning the overall trophy, FEST09 also won two subcategories – the super slalom and endurance. The successful end to the season showed the car’s capabilities and allowed the team to be satisfied with their hard work.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
